Job Description Summary

-Works independently Saturday and Sunday, from 11:30am – 7:30pm.
-Performs general custodial duties, event setups, remove trash from buildings, restock restrooms, as required.
-Operates cart to remove trash from buildings and dispose in dumpsters around campus. Responds to special needs and or emergencies as required. Work schedule will be adjusted to meet the needs of the department.

Essential Duties

-Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
-clean all restrooms, replenish supplies, clean, vacuum, strip and wax floors; shampoo and extract carpet
- Perform event setups (tables, chairs, & etc.) as scheduled
- Operate cart to remove trash from buildings and dispose in dumpsters
- Report unusual occurrences and or problems to appropriate authority
- Respond to emergencies as appropriate
- Train new employees to assure their safety and safety of others; and other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

-High school diploma or equivalent.
-Basic knowledge of custodial activities and related equipment operation. Ability to communicate in written and spoken English. -Must be able to read labels to apply products and chemicals at required rates.
-Ability to communicate effectively using computers. Ability to maintain good
-interpersonal relationships with faculty, staff, & students.
-Valid state driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

-High School diploma or GED
-Two years custodial experience

Physical Demands

-Ability to effectively operate custodial equipment such as scrubbers, buffers, & extractors.
-Ability to lift 50 pounds and to bend, stoop, twist, and climb ladders. May be exposed to human cadavers in labs and other teaching/research areas.
